Did Kim Kardashian Try to Make Herself Even Prettier?

This picture taken last week in Los Angeles shows the beautiful Kim Kardashian with noticeably larger lips...and we aren't the first to notice. A swarm of blog sites and gossip magazines have been parading about "Kim Kardashian's Drastic Surgery"! What did Kim K have to say...

She explained "That's not true. Trust me, I've tried Botox on the show… I have the flu. I'm puffy and swollen, and I have no make-up on. Why would I just do my bottom lip? My top lip was smaller and my bottom lip was huge and I'm thinking that would be the worst doctor on earth to do one lip and not the other. It's definitely something that I would never do. I think my lips are big enough to my taste level."

Hmmm. Did that explanation make sense to anyone out there? (didnt think so). I'm not really buying it. But whatever, I think Kim Kardashian is naturally beautiful under all that makeup. Don't go change a thing! or anymore things. Pretty soon we'll have another Franken-Heidi on our hands...

Oops... I Ripped Off Your Song?

Did one of America's favorite pop queens rip off the Bellamy Brothers? They seem to think so! Everyone is raving about the new Britney hit, "Hold it Against Me". However, some feel it sounds eerily similar to the Bellamy Brothers 1979 county hit, "If I said You Had a Beautiful Body". David Bellamy said, "If you listen to the lyrics of Britney Spears' new single, you'll find some major similarities... She's a talented gal. But professionally, well, in all honesty, we feel completely ripped off. Where's the originality?". 


Here's the evidence. The Britney tune goes... 
"If I said I want your body now, would you hold it against me?" 
The Bellamy Hit goes...
"If I said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?"


More than a coincidence if you ask me. I'm all for a Britney comeback, but not at the expense of creativity. - Jazz

Father and daughter cover a beautiful song by Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros. Seriously the cutest thing I've ever seen in my life. She has such a passion and strength in her voice at such a young age and both of their voices go very well together. Hopefully this isnt the first signs of Lohan syndrome....but anyways.I'm officially addicted to their channel on youtube. Subscribe to them? I did!

(OK, that's a little better). At one point in high school she suffered from an eating disorder, she weighed only 80 pounds. She blames it on drugs cheer leading. However later in life, she went on to become a veterinarian. We don't have all the details, but something tells me that didn't work out.

It will be a miracle if this kid doesn't turn out to be a reality super star. His mom is the gorgeous Kourtney Kardashian. His aunt is the amazing and hilarious Khloe Kardashian. His other aunt is the glamarous, outrageous, MEGASTAR, Kim Kardashian. His family is royalty!... Well, atleast his mom's side is. These kids have it all, be jealous. :P

Ok, so I think we've all established that I'm a hugemongus Lady Gaga fan. A little monster. Soon she'll be releasing a new single and album in the next five months. I am SOO excited! For the last year, people all over the world have been craving new music from Lady Gaga, anticipating the success and brilliance, waiting to see if it could top The Fame and Fame Monster. And now we have it. When she received her last award of the night at the VMA's, she sang a couple lines of the single and title song, Born This Way (which I've provided below). I almost cried. Seriously. On her new album, I feel like she's waving the freak flag even higher for all of us out there...

2. High Heel Oxford

If this picture of Taylor Swift rocking the oxford heel, doesn't make you realizes the level of their awesomeness - nothing else will. I may not be very great at walking in heels, but I would definitely endure some blisters for these shoes. You can find them in virtually every style and color. Wear them with some cute tights and your look is absolutely perfect!

3. Corduroy Pants

Jessica Alba is so gorgeous. If she likes corduroy pants, I like corduroy pants. You can dress them up or down. If your wearing a blouse and scarf or just cute tee and some chucks - you are looking great. They are comfortable, casual, and dressy all wrapped in one. I own a pair of navy corduroy skinnies and a pair of tan corduroy flares! Go get some!- JAZZ

Remebering 2010...

So, this started out as a 'Top Ten Songs of 2010' list, but that list turned into a top twenty real quick. So here are my top ten bands and singers of 2010. Maybe you'll learn of someone new? Enjoy, Assata xx.


1.Lady Gaga

She totally ran this year with her intoxicating beats and catchy lyrics...and she didn't even release an album this year. Nonetheless, she rocked 2010 for it was worth; she was everywhere! I love her soo much and I can't wait for her new album in 2011.

2.John Mayer

So, I am severely obsessed with John Mayer. I literally listen to him for hours. His latest album, Battle Studies proved to be really good even if it wasn't as good as his last, Continuum, it was good in it's own right. Now, I know that there are alot of people who have bad press against him, but no matter what your opinion of him is you can't deny that his music is less that brilliant.

3.Vampire Weekend

OMG. I don't know how I could've gone through this year without listening to Vampire Weekend every day.
Their ska and dancehall beats against their witty lyrics fill me with such joy. Even my mom loves them! One of my big plans for 2011 is to see them in concert. Sounds exactly like my kinda party.

4.Nirvana

This band seemed to become more prominent in my life as I realized that I couldn't stop from becoming an angsty teen. They covered teen angst better than anyone ever had and ever will. It saddens me so much to know that I can only have four albums worth of their music.

5.The Smiths

I found out about them when I saw the movie (500) Days of Summer, like lots of other people. But I like to do my reserarch, so I started with their first album and it quickly went into constant rotation. They quickly became one of my favorite bands of all time. I adore the heartfelt lyrics that Morrisey pours onto the obviousyl 80s music.

7. MGMT

They are bringing psychedelic rock back! I had only heard a couple of their songs before I read their album review in Rolling Stone magazine. I put alot of trust in Rolling Stone and their review was really good so I checked them out when their album came. Rolling Stone totally came through for me...and now I love them.

8. B.o.B

He definitely brought something different to the rap game this yar. With the hipster flair of Kid Cudi (whom I also loove) and the heaviness and epicness of Eminem, he brought the a Southern flow that I really liked. During the summer, Turn Me On from his mixtape was my summer song. Then his album came out..and I had it on repeat for a solid week. And he did an awesom cover ofVampire Weekend's The Kids Don't Stand A Chane. I loved all the collaborations he did, like with Hayley Williams from Paramore, Rivers Cumo from Weezer, and Janelle Monae.

9.Taylor Swift

As a teenage girl, I love songs  about how much boys suck....how we can't live without them. About falling out with our friends and picking back up after time. Nonetheless, her album was a big hit this year and

10. Justin Bieber

Whether you love him or you hate him, he was a big part of what made pop music in 2010. Regardless of good or bad, everyone has an opinion about him. I'm not super duper crazzy about him, but he has some catchy songs and I couldn't imagine a realistic 2010 list without him on it. I don't see him slowing down in anyway! I just hope he doesn't go crazy and end up in teeny-booper oblivion.

Mini-Teen Crisis

Today was NO BUENO.
Here is my short and petty list of why.


1. My teacher gave us a quiz on the wrong chapter. I didn't know any answers and then I had a mini-meltdown complete with tears and tissues.
2. I stubbed my pinky toe on a door. It still hurts.
3. I found out that my ex-best friend it secretly talking to the same guy as me. 
4. There are mysterious birds falling from the sky and no one knows why.
5. Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber were caught kissing. :0 Heartbreak.


THIS IS TOO MUCH FOR ONE DAY. It feels like my small teen life is ruined and by "friend" JoJo is not answering her phone! :P
